Every New Year brings a mass sign-up to gyms as people put fitness at the top of their resolution lists.
And in February comes a huge drop-off as members fail to keep their New Year resolutions. Statistics show that 14 per cent of new gym goers stop going in February.
But at Bannatyne Health Club and Spa in Perth there are two members who are getting more out of their visits than most. And even in the least popular gym month of the year, they’re determined to keep going.
The service users from ASC’s Sidlaw View bungalows in Coupar Angus have been enjoying gym visits and swims with their support workers two or three times a week. The support workers have been able to visit for free as they accompany the service users.
Bannatyne has agreed that our service users can attend any classes they want. Says Sales Manager Alisdair McLeod: “This is new for us but we’re delighted to be able to accommodate ASC’s service users and staff. It’s great to see their progress in the gym and the pool.”
“What a pleasure it has been to see our guys flourish,” says ASC Team Leader Kerrie Nevin. “When I took over as team leader I wanted our guys to access everything we do, and as they have shown us, with the right staff, the right approach and support, they are able to do anything. I am so proud of them.”
So are we! Thanks Bannatyne Perth and to our dedicated support staff at ASC!
