The gardens at ASC have had a real glow up this summer and they’ve been entered into the group wide BCG in Bloom competition.

Residents and team members from all over BCG are showcasing their green-fingered talents in the latest edition of a vibrant gardening competition open to all 25 of our care homes.

BCG in Bloom has brought fresh life to outdoor spaces this summer, with garden makeovers and creative projects transforming the scenic surroundings of each home.

There are six categories, including Best Overall Garden; Most Innovative Use of Space; Outstanding Resident Gardener; Best Pot; Most Improved Garden and, new for 2025, Best Looking Vegetable.

At ASC, there’s a new decking area for residents to relax in, surrounded by some beautifully striking plant boxes and bird houses. Much of what you see here was created by our residents at their onsite workshop.

They were assisted by Bob from the workshop, along with Scott and Andy from the maintenance team. Activities Coordinator, Anne, was also on hand to help with some of the finishing touches.
