A vibrant end to Black History Month at ASC specialist care campus

Last week, our ASC Specialist Campus came together to mark the close of Black History Month with a vibrant Traditional Dress Day.

Our team proudly wore traditional clothing representing their home countries, marking the diversity, heritage and unique backgrounds within our care community. The special event gave everyone the chance to share stories about their cultures, talk about family traditions and learn more about one another.

Throughout the day, the team shared knowledge about customs, food, music and cultural practices. They also highlighting personal experiences and traditions from around the world. These conversations encouraged further learning amongst the team and our residents, and offered a glimpse into the cultures represented across our ASC campus.

Music and dancing brought even more energy to the celebrations. The team showcased traditional dances, shared their favourite songs and encouraged everyone to join in. The activities highlighted the importance of inclusion, while celebrating the all that make our diverse BCG family so special.

This was just one of the fantastic activities held by ASC throughout Black History Month. Earlier, the team enjoyed a karaoke day, sharing songs and music from different cultures. A cultural cooking day also gave everyone the chance to taste a variety of traditional dishes.

A special close to Black History Month

Traditional Dress Day provided a fitting end to Black History Month, recognising the value of diversity and inclusivity, and continuing to highlight cultural awareness across our wonderful campus.

By embracing different backgrounds and traditions, the ASC Specialist Campus – as with the wider BCG family – continues to create a space where everyone feels respected, valued and proud to share their heritage.
