Busy days and chill times at Orchard Court

Two of our brilliant service users at ASC have been taking a course with Perth University of Highands and Islands over recent months. And now the dedication has come to fruition, with Marcus and Josh receiving their certificates for completing the football study from their lecturer and coach Steve. Attending the course on Friday mornings, this has been a superb meaningful enterprise for them both, helping with social interaction and physical activity. Congratulations both!

Our service users have also been getting their green fingers dirty, reaping the benefits of their gardening toils. You may recall they set to, cultivating space at the Westbank community-based horticultural project in Perth, to grow plants, fruit and vegetables, to enrich not only their dinners but mental and physical wellbeing too.

Here they are picking their first batch of new potatoes, chives and look at the size of those radishes! Then taking them back to ASC for that all-important tasting session.

And on a trip out to Camperdown Zoo – a park in Dundee, with a wildlife centre – the guys chose to take pictures of their favourite animals: the bear and the monkeys.

And after all that busy-ness, Marcus and Liam chose some downtime on a Sunday morning. Walking out across the fields with the sunshine and blue skies, and with Activities Coordinator, Anne Foulds and her dog, Boo, they soaked up an oasis of mindfulness, a little exercise and of course, our service users love spending time with our four-legged friends and all the calming effects they bring. Aaand relax.
