Staff shine at recruitment awards

We’re very proud of ASC Manager Jen Aitchison for gaining a commendation for her hard work at ASC.

Jen was commended in the Shona McKenzie Shine category of the s1Jobs Recruitment Awards at a glittering ceremony last night in Glasgow.

The awards celebrate some of the country’s top employees and recruiters. The Shine award recognises those who “go above and beyond their call of duty, offer excellent service and take pride in their work.” Jen was lauded for having strengthened and grown the ASC service, and improved its grades.

Jen was pipped at the post by Liz Thomson, Activities Coordinator at Balhousie Huntly, one of ASC’s sister care facilities. Liz, who at 81 is older than many of her residents, won the Shine award for her outstanding work and commitment. A growing media star, she has featured on TV and in national and local press and is considered to be one of the country’s oldest care home workers.

Jill Kerr, Group CEO of Balhousie Care Group, said: “It’s wonderful to see Liz and Jen’s achievements recognised. They are both an absolute credit to the company. Congratulations to both!”
